Cox gurney@1/32

Postby Racie35 » Tue Feb 17, 2015 9:29 pm

I've started a 1/32 copy of the cox gurney car from the 60's. That's why I was looking for the revell monogram 65 galaxie body.
Anyhow I'll try and post pics of its progress.

It is, but the bigger issue is size. Could you please make them 800x600 in the future?

I love this car and can't wait for you to get it done!

Racie,
Nice looking project, anxious to see it completed. Your ability to flow the solder is first class.

I make sure I use the acid...without that it seems like nothing flows. A good soldering iron would help too,but I just use a small 40 or 60 watt pencil type,it's all I got right now.

I've tried it..I kinda struggle at a puter doing it all. What surprised me about the drop arm was how good this car tested. I don't know if the length mattered or the drop arm but it's planted pretty good,as good or better than my scaley camaro and it's a tad quicker. In fairness though I haven't painted and installed the windows, grill and bumpers. I gotta find a slightly taller set of tires too,so it may change it some.

Sanded all the paint off the body today...it's a pinkish red underneath...scraped the molded in chrome body detail off too. Picked up some new testors too...time to stop testing the car and paint.

Update....painted it and had to strip it back off,so I'm back at square one on the body and no decals yet from pattos . I've been trying different wheels and tires on it too and have settled on the steelies . Car runs great on the tires I've tried. Mostly super slicks.
