Ok My sons and myself have recently had some interest in setting up a small HO track to add to the race schedule on Sundays we are going to hard wire it because I really want to learn how to do that I have the drivers stations from SCC ,wire and everything I need but have some questions
1. What would be a good economical power supply to use we will mostly run stock tjets and Xtraction cars
2. What controllers would work the best we want to be able to take the controllers from the HO track to the 1/32 scale track PM 35ohm?
3. How can I make the power tap tracks without melting the plastic and how many power taps do I need 1 every 8 tracks?

This track is I think the first track we setup in the first house we bought shortly after we moved in there was a garage sale up the street a bit and we came back with this Tyco track found the old picnic table out in back of the house brought it in the basement to setup we would sit there for hours running those cars I think that was 1993 by 2000 we had a four lane AFX track setup on a 4x8 table we use to have neighborhood races there like I went to when I was a kid fun times! I'm looking for the pictures of it.

An inexpensive controller that would work well with all sorts of HO cars and 1/32nd cars would be a tall order. Good electronic controllers can be adjusted to work with all sorts of slot cars, but those are rather expensive. If you need to keep the cost down a simple resistor based controller would be the way to go. If the T-Jet type cars that you have are the Ultra type with a neo dot traction magnet a 45 ohm controller would work fairly well with most of your HO and 1/32nd cars. Without the traction magnet most people would use a 90 ohm controller with a T-Jet type car. If you have any Mega G+ cars the set controllers are 120 ohms, but I have driven them with a 90 ohm controller. There is a switchable resistor controller available, I can't recall who makes it, hopefully someone will chime in on that.
