:text-goodpost: Very Cool, and thanks for sharing your review and stats on this car. I really want one of those bodies, but I ain't gonna pay Auto Worlds latest price increase($30±) for a complete car ! :o

Man that is sweet! Thanks for the review.I would like to get one, but they seem a bit pricey. Maybe they will go down a few bucks after all the excitement calms down. I noticed MEV sells a 58' Plymouth body in kit form for $15.00.

Yeah - not sure if AutoWorld figured out that the last of the Model Motoring cars that were available via retail had pretty much dried up and that is the reason for the bump(?) - but it isn't just the Hollywood releases that got the increase - the Willys releases did too. (much to the disappointment of both myself and my local track/dealer)
Will be interesting to see if the new price point stays or if they scale it back a bit...

BUT! With that said... I have to say, that is a sweet looking rendition - and as soon as one shows up in the case at the track, it is coming home with me! :D
Thanks for the review and detailed pics for those that haven't gotten their hands on one yet!

That is really cool!

I remember paying almost $35 for the 1969 Donahue car around 2001 from MM. I almost screamed then, but since no one else made it, that was my only choice. Then I saw the 1:32 Scalextric version a year later...

At least you get lights for the added $ on that one - as far as I can tell, there is no "added feature(s)" on the Willys releases.
(Like the look of Christine all lit up like that!) :D

You could paint the underside of the hood black and also use a thin dark opaque film of some sort to limit the light leaks...nice headlights!!

This is a great price I think! Just got one myself. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Auto-World-Thun ... 5423e8cd6e

{ Update} Looks like they sold out! That was fast. They were selling them for $19.95 + $3.95 shipping. When I bought one, they still had 8 left.
