Just picked up this beast made by Slotcarheroes. A really interesting chassis and it runs much better than it looks. Having a lot of fun doing laps with this one.

Paul:
Back in the "Golden Age", circa 1965, I went to my dad's workplace and while looking around I found a scrap bin containing some drilled aluminum bar stock. I used it to construct a very similar backbone chassis for several 1/24 hard body cars I raced at Mr. Holcombe's Hobby Haven 8 lane routed track in Irving, Tx.
I think I may resurrect my design for several vacuum bodies I have ordered from Pattos.

chassis.jpg Another pic of SCH chassis design. I believe the enterprise is out of business.

SCH had quite an interesting website for a few years. I believe they sold cars & parts on it, in addition to having a number of "how-to" articles posted there. They went out of business about 5 or 6 years ago.

I wished there was some warning when folks go out of business or otherwise vanish and we lose those how to articles when their website goes dark.
There apparently now are some powerful tools to archive the entire website and its files if prior warning is available.

Tim was a real inventor for modern slot cars, going to great lengths to create very nice looking replicas. Metal casted wheels, replacement motors, clear bodies, plastic injection molded gears, even a laser cut 1/32 F1 chassis which was I believe his last hoorah.
