Lotus 30 hits the track

Finished up my Tamiya Lotus 30 this weekend. I picked an unusual livery for this one. Looks like Purina sponsored this car! Body sits on a scratchbuilt brass chassis chassis with all the usual suspects sending it down the track. I removed the ugly motor box that Tamiya put in these kits, and used a half torso driver figure and flat styrene cockpit area. The car handles like a rocket with it's Low CG. and the Piranha motor gives it plenty of squirt out of the corners. Im happy with the out come on this one, a bit retro looking, and very different.

Awesome build. I remember that decal sheet from the 1960s, and may still have one in a zip lock bag hanging in the rafters of the basement model/slot car menagerie! I like the combination of the red/white checkers and the sky blue paint. Thanks for the look.

FORD engine in that Lotus, yes? :D Very cool, and... Enjoy! -- Ernie :>)

How about a picture of the chassis?
