Hey little Cobra!

Always think of the song by Ronnie and the Daytonas when I get out my Carrera Cobra. Since I didn't have one in 1/24 scale, I decided to build myself one! Grabbed an old Revell Model kit off the bay, and a very old H&R non adjustable chassis. I cut the chassis down a good bit, added some Pro trac wheels and the kit inserts, one of my own motors at 21.300, and 9/31 gears with 1/32 axle up front, and a 1/8" rear.I used my own brand of urethanes front and rear with the Goodyear sidewall logo. A lot of folks don't care for all the little details on a raceable slot car, for fear of snapping them off in a crash. I have a fix for that. After final assembly, I mix up some crystal clear epoxy, and very carefully go in behind all small parts and re enforce them. This works for sidepipes, windshields, driver figures, bumpers , etc. It does not make them bulletproof, but they hang in there a lot longer under normal hard race conditions. Anyway, here she is, getting "ready to bite"and go shut down some corvettes

That looks very nice Uncle Bob. Don't care to much for the black motor but that Cobra body and the drive are great.

Classic look! Great detail in the windshield, vestigial (hoop) roll bar, and dig the side exhaust.

Was that the Revell kit with the fragile, detailed frame to go under the body? A lot of us had one in '65.
