I recently finished my first wood routed track. I had been running a carerra 132 track for a couple of years now. I now understand the difference . No more running off the edge of the track and deslotting. Much smoother and quieter too. Building the track was much easier than I was expecting. A little time consuming though. I like both 132 and 124 cars. Tomorrow I don't know , but today I prefer my 124 cars. They seem much more lifelike handling than the 132 cars. And they stay on the track much better too. I'll keep both , but 124 are my favorite.

I understand. I went through years of that thinking, and I still have loads of 1/24th-1/25th cars built from models. Detailing is easier, pinstriping is easier, its easier to balance them for racing, and there is an endless variety of model bodies to work with. I always missed my 1/32nd cars and bought RTR mostly, but with so many more people doing resin magic these days, I have a gorgeous backlog of 1/32nd cars to build now. In fact, I am planning to sell off all those 1/24th cars, except a few modifieds I am proud of. I'll build dummy chassis for them and put them on display.

I missed running my big cars so much, i routed myself a big ole 2 lane road course. Love my 1/32 stuff, but the big cars are real hoot.
