My very first 1:24 scale car only in red. When I came back to slots I made sure to find a few of the Gar Vics.

Wow, really clean - almost pristine, at that! Frame reminds me of a Testors 36D inline frame. Never seen a Gar-Vic car in person!

Somewhere in all my seldom seen boxes of old stuff, I have a chassis for the Firebird that was cut up for something by a guy I bought a box of junk from years ago. It was disappointing to see the cut marks on it. I don't remember if it was ruined or not. Does anyone make a repro of that body these days?

I did, I have one of the repro clear bodies sitting in the garage currently. I'll try and find it again. Same place also had the Asp bodies as well.
Did some checking... Pattos makes the Gar Vic Firebird body.

Garvic, there is a blast from the past! I have several of those left over from the '60s, I never ran them with the original bodies. Some how I managed to hang on to them all of these years, They were stored in a tin shed behind my folks trailer for a long time before I bought my house and put them in my basement. When a new commercial track opened in my area I started to run 1/24th cars again and the track had an old timer's race for vintage cars once in a while. I never ran these cars in those races however.

Ya gotta love the added "graphics" on the OEM box. Monsters and doodles abound!
When they're clean, I like to have my print guy make a fresh color photocopy, on the glossy hard stock paper.
Makes some cool raceway artwork for a couple of bucks.
Nice find, get it running and have FUN. Enjoy! -- Ernie :>)

I race a Garvic on home Carrera and wood commercial tracks, all original except 1960's Candies rear silicone tires and it handles fantastic! have been racing it for 10+ years now and still runs strong. Sometimes I switch the Garvic body to Chapparral body for vintage races. Garvics are easy enough to find to add to your collection. Great box art, a nice series of Thingies too.

I got the body from Patto, and I am ready to build my own antique. But since the temperature in my slot car area is 18F!!! I'll have to postpone the work for now.
