Yes it was a hoot. What a great race. Results coming, but we had some tangles and your normal hard racing so don't take the results too personal. It is just what happens when we start mixing it up. It's why I run the fast lap, so it gives people a better view on how they compared.

Plenty of tech talk.

Strangebrew looking like he approves.

Be back with results.

Ok results for Modifieds!

And Sportsman!

Browman, your car dropped a crown. Wow, was that a sound you never want to hear. :) I replaced it with a new one, just not NSR as I did not have that. I used a NINCO Pro Gear.

Some crashes had a few bodies "adjusted" and we fixed them. A few gear adjustments to loosen up a couple tight ones, but really no damage other than a few scuffs. Which I did not buff out...you can keep your well earned "Missouri Pin Stripes" or clean them off.

It was a great race event, just a fun one. All the gang really appreciated the hard work everyone did. I especially thank each and every one of you for joining the fun. All the people know that this event is about FUN FIRST. The fun of just building, and creating something special. Well you all did that and then some.

Thanks again all, it was a great race. I will get the voting thread up here in a few for Best In Show.

thanks Harry for hosting a great event
and thanks to all the guy's that helped with the racing

I would also like to thank all who entered the 2017 ORW showdown series
if it wasn't for you we would not have this event :text-thankyouyellow:
i am very happy with how my car went and placed
this this the very first oval track race car I have built and only the 2nd brass chassis car I have done

so don't take this the wrong way
but I am happy my car managed to show you old pro's how us Kiwis do things

Nice to see Retro's ride with a good finish.

For BARC there is no where else to go but up. I was totally expecting that in the modified, but thought I might be more in the hunt in the sportsman with all the motors being the same, but alas I was way off the pace. If anythng I am happy to see how well that car ran with such a small motor.

This is all good info as when the car returns it can be used as a performance comparative for next years car.

If you have any pointers Harry don't be afraid to send along some comments when you return the car. Comments on Gearing, tires etc would be most welcome. Results don't mean much too me as I enjoy the building of the cars, and the fun of being run, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't mind working to more competitive times.

Great race and it looks like there was some fun to be had. Thank you for running the proxy. They are a lot of work.

"We Shall Return"

Cheers

Dan

BARC: Your car could have used that one more tooth to 27 on the crown. And the front wheels/tires were a little high, that made it a tad tippy going in hot to the corners.

I knew from the very start this was going to be a great one. Are there more photos coming? This time was really special, and a fine send-off for Keith. Nice work, Harry, really nice job on this.

Well not really much more. Have some links to video from the FB live feed.

I just did not have much time between running the race/turn marshaling/stuffing my face/ etc.

Wow! I'm ecstatic to have done so well against this level of competition. They certainly were closely matched and they are all show quality rides. Thanks to everyone, this was a blast for my first ever proxy.

Now with two Showdowns under my belt, I think I'm hooked. It'd be nice to be able to do some on-track tuning, but it's also kind of a hoot to toss a virgin car into the fire and see how it does. My thanks also, Harry, for hosting the event.
