I got a 3D printer around Christmas time and have been playing around with it quite a bit. I working on printing a chassis and dirt late model body in 1/43. I designed a couple different versions of the chassis, one using a standard 1/32 size can motor (tight fit!), and one using an ff-030 GO! type motor. Here is where I'm struggling (my background is 1/32, so forgive me if some of these questions about what parts to use sound silly, I'm a 1/43 newb):

What wheels (brand and size) do most of you use when scratch building? The smallest ones I have found are the slot.it sipa33 wheels, but there is not much in the way of tire selection for them. I would like to use hubless wheels (like the CB design) if possible. For tires I would like to use urethane tires around 17-18mm diameter but can't seem to find any of those either.

For the ff-030 motor, where can I find inline gears (pinions and crowns)? Or are you just using standard 1/32 gears (for a 3/32 axle)?

I think your best bet would be to check the CarGo website. He has the best stock of all things for 1/43. Many of us also buy chinese made stuff on ebay.

There are also some suppliers of aluminum rims for use in static 143 scale models that can be used for slot racing. Spirit 143 is such a place

on my latest projects, i´m using cheap 2mm axle material from china. that said - only the gears are from china. axles - from germany - von jedelloh - tamponstahl axles 2mm. because 2mm china axles will not fit into 2mm ball bearings. i found that the 2x5x2.5mm ball bearings work better than the 2x5x2.3mm ones (from aliexpress).
wheels - i designed my wheels on 3d and got them printed from shapeways (i also offer those wheels on shapeways) also for 2mm axles.

if i want really nice wheels i use 3D printed wheel inserts - also from shapeways. or i use them from the modell, if available.

if i want 2.38 (3/32) axles and gears, i get them from CarGo - the quality is better.
