Just got my first Slot.It anglewinder.

Tuesday on E-bay I noticed a slot.it FINA McLaren F1GTR with only a few hours to go that had a bid of about $20 so before I left to go to the slot car track I entered a max bid of $43.00 totally expecting to get out bid. When I got home several hours later I checked my e-mail and discovered I had won the auction for only $32.00. The car came today (Friday) so I proceeded down to DeBary Glen to check out my new McLaren. If I were told I could only keep one of my McLarens I'd have a hard time choosing which one to hold onto. This FINA paint scheme is awesome.
So after removing it from the jewel case and just doing a little prep work the car was turning some respectable laps. The gear mesh was much better than what Marty had experienced on his first anglewinder. I guess that's just the luck of the draw. However I did notice some front end wobble and on further inspection found one of the front plastic hubs was slightly warped. A quick check of my spares box produced a replacement hub and I was back in business. After adjusting the magnet height and swapping out a set supertire 1407s the car immediately improved it's lap times and is in the same league as it's inline brothers. For my personal style of driving I think I prefer the inline set up but not by much.
