The Jaguar XJR12 is a sport-prototype racing car, born in 1990 to replace the XJR9.
This model featured a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. The engine was a V12 engine with two valves per cylinder. In 1990, displacement was 6 liters for the IMSA version and 7 liters in the Group C configuration; these values were increased in 1991, becoming 6.5 liters for the American version and 7.4 for the European.
IMSA version total weight: 930 kg; about 1000 kg for the Group C configuration.
The XJR12 was employed by Tom Walkinshaw Racing in particular for the long distance races, such as Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans, as this car was able of great reliability and was very regular in race trim.
The car got very good results; in 1990, it finished 1st and 2nd in the Daytona and Le Mans 24 Hours races, and in 3rd place at Sebring. After, it finished in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place at Le Mans in 1991, and in 2nd at Daytona in 1992.
A few months ago I purchased the Slot.It XJR6, which has all the same parts as this new Slot.It Jaguar XJR12. That would be EVO6 chassis plate, .5 mm CH24 motor pod, 16.5 mm rear wheels, lightweight body / interior. That particular car has a couple of wins at our club, so my thinking is that this XJR12 Jaguar might just have some of the same DNA in it.
Accoriding to what I've heard, it is supposed to be in your local slot car facility on September 10th. I hope to have one soon after that.

I had a couple of the early versions. For some reason I could never get that car to handle the way I liked.
But in the defense of this car, it was due mostly to my ignorance.
I think it is time to try another. Thanks for the update.

Is this one going to have the Silk Cut tobacco logo covered up or is it as seen in the picture?

That is sooo tempting, had I known it was coming a few weeks ago I probably would have waited and not bought the XJR 6.

Is this really a different mold from the earlier offering or just a repaint?
