The set is avalaible...so I am curious if anyone is picking it up to get it or you are going to wait for the regular release.

I will have to wait.

Those are rather nice, but I wish they would have started with the T/A livery first. :)

I'm glad to see street cars, however the cars' colors are OK but uninspired. I don't understand these stupid movie tie-ins.

It might be just the picture, but it looks like they squared off the body and made a dog's breakfast of it. Damned shame. You don't suppose the new management is responsible for the goofy Charger and this? If so, I see a quick end to their tenure.

I'm with you. I remember that we thought Vanishing Point was strictly drive-in material, and we watched it the same way we watched Two Lane Blacktop, and Dirty Mary/Crazy Larry. We watched them every time they came on, but we never thought of them as art. The Fast and the Dubious was silly, and people seem to think the series was something notable. I suppose that's natural if people think those Japanese computer cars with lights under the chassis compare with real muscle cars made of Detroit Iron. Maybe we're just old, but that doesn't mean we aren't right!

Wasn't that green/black "F Bomb" Camaro in this set featured as a real car in Hot Rod or Car Craft Magazine a few years back as a 1:1 car someone built?
I think it was built by one of their writers for some power cruise if memory serves me correct?

Hi Jeremy!
Thank you for helping my memory!!!
I thought I had seen and read about that car somewhere?
Instead of a fast and furious set, Scalextric should of made this into a drag race set......

Guys.... Just a little reminder. Scalextric are in the toy business. The selection of a current movie rather than a 'classic' is to involve the current crop of kids to nag Mum or Dad for them. Particularly handy if Dad already has a track.
I'm happy to see road cars. But I'm not likely to run out an buy them. Not a huge fan of Scalextric brand cars. Only purchased the Torana and XB Falcon from Scalex in the last couple of years, but couldn't let them pass for obvious reasons.
Also Scalextric by Hornby should not be confused with SCX who are the ones under new management and hold the Scalextric naming rights in Spain.

Don't forget the collectors. That market is very important to these companies.

Well I like that Challenger a lot! Looking forward to getting one and different versions of it. I could care less about the Fast and Furry Ass tie in.

Doesn't look bad! I won't be getting it, but it looks decent enough. Like Harry told me earlier, ten years ago, we'd have killed for these cars.
