M/T-1 motor mount question

If you are using a commercial bracket, the bushing end of the can will fit close into the bushing
hole of the bracket. The easy way is to solder the motor to the bracket with a small drop of
solder at the top and bottom where it butts against the bracket. That is how the commercial racers
do it. Use only a small amount of solder, and no more heat than you need to make the joint. You
might have to scuff up the can of the motor where it will be soldered to make a better joint.

For what it is worth, I have soldered around 10 or so just like Dave describes with no issues.

I just did the solder thing for the first time, it works great
I made my own motor brackets from .062 brass so I tinned the motor mount first then do the scuff on the motor and soldered it

Incidently, .032 brass sheet is plenty thick enough for motor brackets. It is easier to bend, easier to
solder to, easier to cut and machine. No sense making it any harder than it needs to be.
