This is the one that I purchased in the HRW Auction. And it looks fabulous. Just makes me all the more eager for the regular release.

There was also a gift in the box.


I was eager to take it out and give it a bang around the track until I turned it over.

Making one in clear plastic used to be a common thing for injection moldings; not only does it let you see inside and check for clearance problems but if you look at it through polarising filters it lets you see inbuilt stresses in the molding.

Nowadays these things are checked with more confidence at the design stage, but it makes for a cool car!

I bet Harry would of chopped the fenders and put some SCC Steelies on it by now, then its a 1 OF 1 :auto-layrubber:

Of the two, I think the X-Ray has more chance of escaping the rarefied air of its box and getting on the track. But I'm worried about losing sight of it if I do.

If I don't get one soon, I think I'll toss the towel on the Blue x-ray on eBay. I'll add some gumballs on it and run the snot out of it...isn't that what these are built for? ;)
