Couple Cudas tuned for the weekend

Decided to tune up a couple cars that have been sitting.

Yellow & Black one had a bad gear and one wheel. Of the 8 or so Cudas, only one with an issue. Went with SCC 15x8, PGT 21125's. Had to sand the inside sidewall a little in order to clear, but all is well. Did a B-Nova on it too...just for kicks.

Other one is stock expect PG tires.

Been awhile since these had some time. Look forward in running them at SEMO this weekend.

Stock motor or MT?? I recently used my amazon x-mas $$$ to pick up that yellow one ($32 shipped nib!) but it's all stock. That 04 car is on my short list and will give me a nice set of 4. I've not done anything to any of mine, aside from removing the magnet, I've been satisfied with their performance on Ninco track.

Stock sir. The Bumble Bee car has the 42B and the Blue/white has that new RK 42. The new motor seems pretty good...but after an alky-dunk, the beefier brushes in the 42B make the difference, although it is very close.

Remember, I don't run in any official races...so just tuning for smoothness.

BTW..in case anyone is curious, you can really make these cars quiet down by using a little hot glue on the body. Put some on all the "post-melts" on the bottom of the interior and the bumpers. The bumble bee was a rattle trap that almost hurt your ears, then with the glue treatment it is really improved.

I have 4 of those cars. The 42,48, 89, and the 04. The only one I have out of the box is 48 I believe, and it's all stock, even tires and it runs very well. The only thing I did to it was remove the magnet, and added some weight. Just a great car. :)

You should not be sorry. In my eyes along with a lot of folks here, it is the best slot car SCX has ever made.

Between the Yellow Cuda and the Yellow Scaley 70 Camaro, those have to be two of the ugliest 70's paint jobs and two of my favorites...

They look good, pretty wide too so they should be stable through the curves?

Has anyone ever tried using the Slot.it adapter and fitting a can type motor? I purchased one for one of my Cudas but have never given it a try. Curious about the B-Nova Harry and what guide you installed, let us know.
