Any word of new NASCARs coming out anytime soon? I don't think we've had any new ones since they went back to removing the rear wing.

Is the Gen 6 car the new one that just debuted this weekend or the sans wings with spoiler COT, or the sans wing with spoiler / sans splitter COT? With this years new car we are now on our 3rd rendition of a Cup car post wing. I believe Carrera made some of the wingless with splitter COT's. Scaley hasn't produced anything new. SCX is currently on life support so I wouldn't expect any new molds coming from them in the for-see-able future.

This is the most modern Nascar that I am aware of.

Nascar's flip-flopping car rules really put the hurt on the model producers: The slot car mfg'ers put all that time/money into developing a COT model... then Nascar changes the looks/rules almost immediately, rendering their newest model "old hat".
No wonder they want to stay with proven classics and such! (Besides... classics are cool.)

Thanks guys. I hadn't seen the Carrera ones. I bought some of the Carrera COTs, but really didn't like the way they drove. I have some of the SCX's and really like them. I just got a 5th SCX COT, so I might just take one (I have a 4 lane track), and see about making a rear spoiler to replace the wing. I don't mind the splitter on front as much as the wing in the back.
Yeah, the COTs have been around for a while. I was thinking the same thing about the F1 cars. I guess the thing is that world-wide, the market is better for the F1 cars.
I would love to see someone do another "stocker" like Artin did. I don't care about it looking exactly like a Toyota, Ford, or Chevy. I just want something similar to today's stock car that I can paint, decal, and run.

You can buy new Artin stockers right now on Ebay. Harry can pipe in here is he knows more but I believe the stuff being currently sold is the unsold stock left over after the death of the original importer. I'd love to buy a bunch of Artin cars as they are still one of my favorite platforms to kit build off of. I just can't afford it right now.
You can also easily add a spoiler to a wing fitted COT. The guys running the Davols Nascar Cup Proxy are now required to change all of their cars by the rules. I have been involved in the Nascar Cup Proxy the last three years but not this year. They are doing the wing to spoiler mod based on a method I figured out awhile back. Here is a link to a tutorial.

Great tutorial. Thanks. Seems so easy, though that wasn't the method I was going to use, haha.
