ScaleAuto 1/32 Radical SR9

I've had my eye on this slot car for a while and last week decided to go ahead and buy one. I was very happy with what came in the mail Friday. It comes with a chassis that is compatable with the slot.It motor pod system. The motor is of the same style as the slot.It flat 6 but the car comes with extra motor brackets which are sized for the FC130 and the short sealed endbell motor. The motor is secured with a screw on piece from the top like a BRM motor. My only beef is that the rear hubs, while very true< are the plastic press on type like BBR and MB Slots. I may replace them with aluminum hubs.

It ran well on my Scaley sport track after I replaced the motor with the one I removed from my MRSlotCar Mazda 787B which I remotored with a Slot.It orange endbell motor. The power curve on the slot.It FC130 21K motor suits my driving style better than the torquey flat 6 style motor.

It ran very well on our new mdf track and powered smoothly through the turns. I'm surprised this car hasn't received more attention on the forums.

Well, it looks like the search function only looks through the forums, and since there hasn't been a review posted in the forums, it won't come up in a search -- even though the review is plainly in the archives.

You could get around that by creating a single post with a link to each archived review. Every time somebody does a search for a review that's only in the archives, this post would come up, and then all the person would need to do is hit the appropriate link. It's a work-around, but it should work for what you want to do.

The Radical is basically the Toyota GT-1 chassis with an even lower body -- that is my review.

Until I acquired my SlotingPlus Reynard, I was convinced that the ScaleAuto Radical SR9 was the absolute limit of 1/32nd scale performance on a commercial track out of the box. It is so well balanced and has such immense tunability that it's hard not to choose it for serious racing.

The recent re-engineering of the car to use ScaleAuto's new line of RT3 components (showing the trend towards pod attachment forward rather than behind the rear axle) has only been an improvement.

Both my GT-1 and SR9 are very strong runners, maybe among my top three?!?! And are, by far, the overall best long distance performer as well. The NSR GT3 is in there as well, so it's in good company.
