The question of smaller layouts for those of us limited on space has shown up a lot. I'm one that has had to downsize and would love to see what others have done in limited space.

So here is the challenge, Show us your photos or track plans for the 4'x8' you have or want to see. Let's limit it to SCX, NICO and Carrera This may help those of us that are space challenged..

Here is my future track (I hope) using Carrera track.

Hi HotRodBob!

Happy New Year!

Here is a pic of one of my earlier scalextric sport tracks on a cut down 4 x 8 plywood sheet.

I think it was like 7 or 71/2 foot long if memory serves me by 4 foot wide.

A fun little track!

Enjoy!

I like it! I hope track posts like yours get seen. I think there are a lot of us without a lot of space. Here was my 6x12 Carrera track when I had the space.

HotrodBob,

You have a nice layout also!

I have since expanded my layout pictured to a 4 x 12 table.

I just changed it up again in another configuration today.

I will have to take pics and post them. My track has been an ongoing project for about a year now with scenery and such.

Much like my model rail roads, a slot car track never really gets finished because there is always something to do to them! LOL!!!!

:D :D :D

Hey Bob, I was in my local hobby shop just a few days ago, and a new guy came in asking about slot cars. He asked about this same thing, layouts that fit in a 4' x 8' area. I hope more people chime in with their 4x8 experience -- it's especially helpful for new guys. :)

You can see an evolution of Ninco track layouts culminating with the one in the final post. Flytoo mandated "no overpasses" and I particularly did not like the spaghetti bowl layouts Ninco suggests in their layouts. I was able to use virtually all the pieces included in their pro-am set without the spaghetti bowl. It cheats the edges by an inch here and there. No borders however. I'm not a big fan of the Ninco R1s particularly if 2 or more are used together. The high adhesion surface combined with the too-tight radius can be tough on gears.
