Re-painted this little guy
looks a gas going around the track
decals are from Indycal - I had them surplus to needs so figure I would do the Constant Hot colour scheme
cheers

Great job on the Midget. I recently acquired a monogram version of the midget and Im looking for more. If I read correctly, the Strombecker version is 1/32 and the Mono is 1/24 so I'm guessing these cars wouldn't look right racing against one another.
How does the Strommie run? Is there much "go" in that little motor?
Paul

Hi Paul
yes these are 1/32 scale - it goes quite well - not a lot of speed - probably on par with a half paced NC-1 - looks great going around the track though

Very cool. I'd love to see three or four of these running together! If Ed ever decides to produce these again, I'll probably order two right off! Still looking for an EJs kit for now. Hopefully one will turn up for sale somewhere. I see the Strommies for sale every now and then and was tempted on several occassions. Due to the scale and speed differences I have to stick to 1/24 midgets.
You did a great job on the strommie! Leadfinger is right, speed is relative. Some of my most fun memories are of "slow riders" like Ninco classics and similarly powered cars running door to door.
Happy New Year fellas!

Oh yeah my favourite race classes are the Ninco classic and other NC-1 powered cars - always makes for close racing.

That looks great! Is that some glue peaking out from under the rear tires? :) Looks fast.

WOW, that looks great!
I picked up an original set with the midgets. Both cars are there, but need work. I plan to get at least one of them running this winter.
Have you found any sources for parts? I'm mising some nerfs and other chrome parts. I've seen the tires are available from Tiny Motors.

Wow great pick up
Mine pretty much had all the parts on it.
I made my own tyres - there are some folks who do repro - strombecker parts - not sure if they have them for the midget as I hadn't searched for midget parts
cheers
