Ken, the stance is "just right" and I too love the extra tail lights on those years.

Today, I finally got the blasted headlight covers to go on right. You don't want to know how many times I have cut those things. Tomorrow I'll get the detail parts installed and get some pictures.

Done at last! I'm so glad to finished with this one, I've planned a scratchbuilding party for myself for a reward. Just before I took the pictures, I bumped one of the headlight covers and popped it out of place. I attached them with a flexible glue to make them a little more shock resistant, so I will slip it back into place after I post this. Those are Pioneer wheels, Paul Gage rear tires, stock fronts. The chassis has been narrowed to clear the body, lowered, as was the body, the guide replaced, and a Mark motor for more fun. I corrected several things Carrera got wrong on the body, and stripped and replaced the grill, as well as the headlights I made from plastic packaging. You would think just that little bit of work to do to make this car wouldn't take months and months, wouldn't you?!?

Anyway, here it is, and you can go back to the previous pages in this post to see the prototype car I modeled.

Rob - it looks awesome! Really, really nice build there. I love the paint scheme on this car. And those headlights...they turned out very well.

That looks great Rob! Those headlights came out very good. Like you said, you wouldn't think it would take so long, but delays and problems here and there, it takes a lot of time. Me I'm busy with some other things right now, of a family nature, so slot cars kinda take a back burner. :)

Thanks everybody. I just looked at the pictures and realized I was in such a hurry to get this one posted and put away I forgot to dust it before the pictures! Those rear tires still have the dust on them from running around my dusty track. Its all over the car, too. Rest assured, Paul's formula hasn't changed. Under the dust, the tires still look great. Oh, and the paint doesn't really have specks all over the rear. Sorry about that.
