Wow! Thanks a bunch, Harry! I've had my eyes on this car for over a year now, ever since I read that review on it that you did. What a bummer that it had a cracked wheel right out of the box. But hey, that didn't stop me from running it and rattling it around my track for a few minutes today. It's a looker. :grin:

I can vouch for the sleeving method as a long term solution. Styrene is fine or I used aluminium tubing because it's got a little stretch in it if the fit you find is a little tight. I had a string of split hubs on Ninco cars on everything from classics to rally cars. I've decided to replace some of them with alloy wheels, but others are still going strong.

Another method I've tried (got a proxy rally car on its way to Canada at the moment) is cotton binding. Just humble sewing thread. I'd expect it's better for a cracked rather the broken hub, or even as protection where you may have concerns. Bind the hub tightly with thread and dribble superglue over the thread to set it in place. I'll be interested to see how it fares through the series, anyway.

For the record, the tubing you want is Evergreen Part# 228 - 1/4" tubing (.250 Diameter)

Which you won't need to order because I sent some in the toy box...along with a few other items.

Firstly I should explain that here in Thailand I am at the end of the supply chain

I can also vouch for the tubing fix. I have used the outside of a ballpoint pen. If you find a tapered pen you can cut the piece that is the correct diameter. Office mate has these.



I have also used the yellow plastic tubing that comes with party balloon sticks.
