Can 143 scale run on scaley

I've run SCX 1/43 Porsches on Scalextric Sport analog. They ran fine but were really stuck down with magnets. Without magnets they would need tuning with weight or tires or both. My Carrera 1/43 Mini will not run box stock as the guide pin is too thick. Trimming the thickness of the guide pin should enable it to work but I haven't tried it yet.

Thanks Zilger let me know when you trim the guide post on the Carrera mini cause most of my 143s are Carrera I'll be able to convert some to a slide glide except my F1's but I'm ok with trimming the guide post down on them.

Now I'm on the hunt for a scaley six car digi that will be under $600 every where I look around here in PA the hobby dealers want any where from the mid $700 and up but I think if I could find one under $600 that would be right up my ally.

Does the scaley digi come with everything like pit lane and program for fuel, lap times or will I need a program like track mate or others that are out there?

Can I use a different power supply for the track and what voltage and amps do 132 cars use?

I have run SCX 1/43 cars, Carrera 1/43 and Dslot 1/43 cars on my Scaley Sport track. The guide pins on the Carrera cars do need trimming to allow smooth passage. But they were rather slow using the Scaley power bases. If you are using a variable output power supply the 1/43 cars need at least 15v.

Most of the Scaley and Fly cars run well at about 13v. Slot.It and other cars with high output motors do better at 11v. If you run no-mag I would lower the voltage until you can comfortably handle the corners and that will also depend on the tires you use.

The reason I want the scaley is that you can run both analog + digital without a lot of headache for myself on the same track.

With Carrera I'd have to figure out how to make a switch to go from digital to analog I really want a Carrera Digital But don't want to replace a bunchy of things to run analog with the scaley six car digital to my understanding you can put a analog on the track and go you don't even have to change the controller. I don't mind wiring in a controller for the Carrera that is not a problem it's that you have to change out some of the electronics witch is just make the track analog.

I just want a system that is basically plug and go and it looks Like the scaley answers that so with the scaley looks like runnin 124 is out.

Now if anyone with the know how to make a switch that will make a Carrera digital analog without unplugging a few things and would like to send me a step by step guide on how to, I would get a Carrera.

It is pretty simple to convert the Carrera digital system to run analog cars, the easiest method only require one switch to swap between the digital and analog powerbase.

Here is a sketch I made earlier on the topic:



Note that the analog "driver stations" represents the analog powerbase, it's just a choice of using a standard analog powerbase, or wiring up driver stations yourself.


When you flip over the digital powerbase (Black Box or Control Unit) and remove the cover plate, then will see how easy it is to add that switch to the cables that goes to the rails, you don't have to mess with the "internals" of the BB/CU.

I took some pictures of the conversion on my track that I can dig up if you need help later.

Sweet it will be Carrera 132 digital that I'll be going with I think.

Thank you 356speedster it looks to be straight forward but I tend to over think a lot which makes me goof up a lot on the electronic side of things and I still basically don't know enough about electronic to tackle a job like this with confidence in my abilities.

So when I get my digital I'll send you a pm to let you know that I got the stuff and when ready to proceed ok?
