I've been experimenting with the R/M chassis while waiting for the pioneer chassis to arrive and surprisingly to me the modifications I made have improved the car's handling to the point where I may dig out the original body from my white Pioneer mustang that Jules replaced due to the tampo rubbing off and put a paint job on it. Other than the usual truing of hubs and tires, replacing the rear tires with yellow dogs and putting the Bibbster treatment on the bushings my objective was lowering the front end as much as possible. I noticed the guide mount protruded about 1/8" below the chassis so I cut it flush allowing the flag to move up. Then I modified the front bushing mounts allowing the front axle to mount higher in the chassis. Finally i trimmed the inside of the front wheel wells and the outside face of the tires so they could turn freely. The improvement in handling was astounding and I can hardly wait to try it out against the Scaley and Pioneer Trans Ams.
