A Vanquish back on the track.

Postby dge467 » Sat Feb 09, 2013 10:31 am

After a few years side lined by the rear end giving up twice, big surprise, I finally fixed it today. I used NSR gears and bushings, and a Slot It 54 mm axle. The factory rims were a little loose on the axle so I knurled the ends and super glued them on. I have to add another spacer still. I may put on some aluminum wheels. ImageIt's nice to run this one again!

Nice one, so cool seeing these older cars being worked on.

Once you do this to them, they are really good runners, I race one in our can-am class and with an NC5 in it and it goes really well, another chap at the club has put an NC-2 in his and it goes well.

I had looked at the NSR spacers but ended up just using the ones that came with the car

I have one of these cars, but have never ran it. It's still NIB. I guess I need to take a look at it. :)

I have two and never had any trouble at all from the differentials. As soon as I got them home, I packed the diffs with the grease that the R/C guys use, and they run fantastically well. Both came out of the box with nearly empty diffs.

The off scale never bothered us much. Just raced them against each other and they were fun. Actually had a great time with them without much modding. Too bad they approached the series the way they did, it could have been a real keeper for more folks if they did them right.
