Early Christmas present from Santa

Postby dreinecke » Thu Dec 20, 2012 10:25 pm

...ok, it was ListerStorm! He knew I was pining for one of these MRRC Cheetahs and that I didn't have one yet. So I get a box in the mail yesterday - turkey sent me one!

Well, me being me, and I know that Lee understands, I had to change a few things...

I added a few appropriate decals, clear coated the body (BTW, Krylon Crystal Clear Gloss is excellent!), added some PG Tires, and M/T's motor.

WOW!!! What a car! Runs perfectly with these:

Thank you, Lee! I love this thing!

Mighty fine gift and goes great there. Looks good with some clear over it too. Hard to go wrong with a Sebring chassis along with the right motor.

This Lee guy is getting in some hot water all over the country.

Nice one Lee, you are the Southern Secret Santa :)

Dave, you are welcome buddy! I knew you had been wanting to get one anyway but I knew you never would so I had to help you out a little. I like it with the new decals and I bet it runs great with Marks motor in it. Looks great in that lineup too. Truth be told, if it wasn't for you answering a email I sent about your old track 10 yrs ago I probably would have never got so involved in this great hobby and met all the great people here at HRW.

Nice Cheetah David. Yeah, you gotta watch that Lee guy. He's liable to send you something without you having a clue it's happening. Enjoy the Cheetah David, Lee very nice gesture. Merry Christmas everyone. :)

Until Lee reminded me, I'd clear forgotten that it's been 10 years since we "met" over my track. Time flies! I've now gotten to see Lee a few times when I've been down in Florida and this past summer for the HRW trip. I'm always amazed that the friends I make on HRW are better than the ones that live a mile from me. Must be sharing the brain in slot car land...

I just got home and ran some more laps with this thing. It is freaking AWESOME!

That car looks great David, what a great gift. I totally agree with putting Marks slimline MT-1 in there. The Sebring chassis comes alive with this motor and a set of PG tires. Did you trade out the braids like Harry did in his tuning article. If not do so and you will like it more, if that's possible. Jim
