Well, I haven't done the touchups yet, but the paint pens came in the mail today, so I'm spending a stormy day designing (remembering) all the crap that was painted all over it. When we (two other idiots and myself, the owners), got it running safely (brakes, rats' nests removed, two tires, an easy decision not to replace the missing 3 hubcaps because they would have been more than the parts for the entire 4 wheel drum brake job, etc.), we had a party. To get through the door, you had to have a six-pack and a can of spray paint (we had already masked it off and de-greased the car).

By the time it was over, we had a highly decorated hearse with all the rusty spots covered. It took 3 guys all day to wax it and polish after the paint had cured. There were a lot of jokes about how much work went into driving a $75 dollar car that had been delivered on a fork lift. Ah, the 60s...

Need a HRW scale bumper sticker? hehehhe

Rob, are you making a scale casket to haul in back? You wouldn't need much more than the right size block of wood. :)

I hadn't thought of it, but there were some significant ones in those days, and I'm sure somebody slapped some on there (its hard to know who did what, when there are 3 guys, all starving student types with strange schedules, several part time jobs each, plus school itself, and of course, a seeming parade of girlfriends coming and going all the time. Nixon hadn't screwed up yet, all of us were involved in trying to get our high school friends back from SE Asia alive, and the absolute worst thing that could happen from all the wonderful girls who passed through our lives was curable quick with Penicillin. I can't imagine a more fun time to be young, independent and crazy.

Bill, we scrapped everything in the rear compartment and crammed an old crappy couch in there. We took our dates to the drive-in movies and parked sideways with a speaker in each end of the vehicle. There was always an argument about who had to share the couch (remember that's 2 couples), and who had the front seat for privacy (1 couple).

That is awesome Rob! Looking forward to this build up. I built one a few years back for shotgundave's Halloween race. I made it to look kind of ratty.

Dayam!! I'm so jealous I'm crying lol...I have SO got to find someone to scan my '54 so I can get it 3D'd in 1/32. I guessing that ghostbuster is a 1/24 car?
So your college car was a limosine style with glass all the way to the back door?
