This is a older reissued kit by Mini Craft of the real old Gowland and Gowland kit from the nineteen fifties. I am using a old Strombecker chassis from I believe the early 70's. It has a nice low RPM motor. I am still in the mocking up stage, the body will sit a little lower in the front. Also I am making my own wheel inserts and using the wheel center caps from the kit.

That looks great. I love those old gowland kits, and the re issues. They make some fun slot cars. Looking forward to seeing your end result.

I sprayed some Rustoleum Gloss Almond paint on the body. Here is also a picture of the chassis before I mounted the posts to the body. Not really a great chassis, but I am just trying to use what I have. It is [was]a brand new chassis. It dose run well though in testing! Not a real high RPM motor, but that suits this car well.

A lot of MG TC's, TD's and TF's ran SCCA you know...……… :lol: Just sayin'...……….

After some slicing and dicing plus some scratch building, the interior is done. Driver is from Pioneer.

Is that Wimbleton White? I originally painted mine that color, then switched to black, then for the "Last Open Road "proxy I added a passenger and painted it green and removed some of the parts to match the one in the book.

Well it is all done! After doing some chassis tuning as the front axle had a lot of up and down movement, so I added a piece of tubing for the axle to go through. The car was tippy through the corners before adding the tube. I also added some weight to the chassis and found some urethane tires for the rear wheels that fit well and I sanded them also. Some front tires were found in my tire pile to replace the dry rotted and out of round originals. I made the wheel inserts and the hub caps are from the craft store.I was also missing the passenger side curtain for the top, so I made one out of some plastic sheet stock. These kits come with no glass so I made my own from some clear plastic. The headlight lenses are from the junk box. The car runs really well!
