I haven't kit bashed a slot car in long while. Time to get back to building! This is the old Monogram 1/32 kit. Body is mounted on a Scalextric Falcon XB chassis that I picked up from a fellow member. I am using a Scalextric Ford Torino interior tub, it fits really nice.It will be built as a Trans-am style race car.

Always wanted to find one of these kits and good to know a Falcon chassis is a good match if ever I do.

That is a great project. Always like that body, might have to seek one out myself.
You couldn’t ask for a better fit for a chassis huh?

Go GTO Go!
That is going to make for one SHARP looking conversion!
The match up with the XB chassis looks like it was planned from the factory!
Very nice!

:text-goodpost: VERY COOL BUILD :text-bravo:
I just picked up my first GTO :banana-dance:
I won it on evil-bay pretty cheap to.
The roof has a nasty spot and the front edge of the hood is screwed up to. :violence-stickwhack:
Going to be a full repaint, and I like what you have tried with the Scalextric chasse :text-goodpost:
I like the trans am cars as well, I was thinking going this route too. :auto-checkeredflag:
:text-thankyouyellow: Thanks for posting your work. :text-thankyouyellow:

Thanks again. Browman, I picked this up at a model kit swap meet.
The interior is all set. I used the steering wheel and shifter from the GTO model kit. Driver is one I had, I believe it is Scalextric. I liked the red the kit was molded in, so I picked up some Rustoleum Apple Red and painted the body.

You have mad skills! That looks legit. I can't wait to see the car when it's all finished.
Best regards,
Brian

it took me a few minutes to figure out this is an earlier version of the GTO than the SnapTite kit. I have 3 SnapTite bodied cars in my street stock series mounted on Monogram Daytona Coupe chassis, but the kit featured here would be a better year GTO for a Showdown Stocker. That said, I'm often very hesitant to apply the Dremel to a great looking body like this, because things never come out as well as I imagine they will.
As is, this is a great looking Trans Am car.
