Got a well used Fly Porsche 908-3 body with broken fins and missing parts. Have a soft spot for this model, the first Fly I ever purchased many years ago.

Grabbed the chassis from one of my Lotus Europa builds using the Devised Designs super slimline motor pod and long front axle/guide carrier. Modified it with larger brass .064 sidepans and Slot It 15 x 8 Slot It plastic rims/tires and F1 rims/March F1 urethane tires.

Epoxied in new body posts to the underside.

Trimmed off the body's broken rear side fins and painted the the sanded areas in black.

Body's stance is right for me.

Runs well on the test track but we'll see how it does on Big Targa at tomorrow's racing.

Just gotta fabricate an interior tray/engine detail tray and we're done.

Very nicely done, I really like what you did to hide the work on the fins and still keep the gorgeous livery.

Well done, Dan. I too have a soft spot for these 908/3's and prefer them sans rear fins. Hopefully it'll raise some eyebrows as it runs on Luf's New Targa.

Good luck.

Looks potent already, Dan! And, as we know from the first GVSCC proxy, the 908/3 is a very good performing car in that series........................

Good outcome testing on Big Targa after yesterday's race. Delved into the 7.5s, a very good lap comparable to a well tuned Slot It.

Performance may diminish with the future driver/engine tray's additional weight but not much. Presently weighs in a 92g.

Pleased with this hybrid plastic/metal chassis formula.

Some modeling progress in between spring yard work.

Modified an earlier Fly Porsche 908's driver/interior tray/engine and paint detailed.

That's really made a visual improvement for me. Just need the roll bar and some rear engine/trans detail and we're done. Running-wise it's already there as it can more than keep up with the Slot Its.

Turned out good on the modeling and performance fronts.
