As an old Beetle man, I have to say those are all the wrong places for rust. As many Bugs as there are still on the road in the UK (and pretty much everywhere else), you wouldn't expect that. Of course, they thought a VW Bus with hippie decorations looked like a little girl's birthday party, so who knows what they were thinking.

But how can we be sure? How do you know there isn't a prototype photo they followed?
I mean...is there a wrong place?? How can you judge where is the "correct" space for rust?
Where was it stored? Did someone do something to it? Maybe someone let their kids hammer on it? Soooo many variables...
Been reading other comments around. Cracks me up and has been a hoot.

They rust around the door pullers from the wood getting wet and not drying out , when patching rust they catch fire inside the piller from the wood very hard to put out to keep welding.
