Well, Revell/Monogram did make a slot car of it, so this isn't entirely unrelated.
If you are a fan if the Daytona Coupe, this video is a must see. Related, at times emotionally, by the man himself, Peter Brock.

I didn't know much about the other Peter Brock - growing up in Australia. Here Peter Brock was a racing legend. I then heard mention of Peter Brock on this and other OS forums and I thought who is this other Peter Brock.
What a story I discovered - amazing designer race team owner . He had a hand in one of my favourite cars.....
I have ordered a Datto 510 from David to do as a BRE car - I have a 240Z kit to bash into a BRE car as well f
The sad irony of the two Peter Brocks is the Aussie one was killed racing a Daytona Sportscar - a modern reproduction of the Daytona Coupe.
