Running the cars with flares

Image

Image

20 minutes run time with no offs
326 laps with a best lap time of 3.60
This car is very very easy to drive. Needs alot more top end for my track and the car can handle that easy. One more tooth on that pinion and your golden.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image

Image

20 minutes run time with no offs
351 laps with a best lap time of 3.32
Very smooth running cars, no need to slow down very much for the turns
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image

Image

20 minutes run time with no offs
328 laps with a best lap time of 3.49
This car started out slow but loosen up after some run time, Fastest laps at end of run
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This mini rides on the guide and not the front tires
Image

Image

Image

This car had to stop in for a pit stop every 20 to 30 laps to clean the rear tires
Image

20 minutes run time with no offs
311 laps with a best lap time of 3.40
Ran very good with nice clean tires, Don't know what is happening with the tires. Maybe they are just falling apart?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image

Image

20 minutes run time with no offs
376 laps with a best lap time of 3.10
Sorry but this truck was made for this track
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The non-flare cars

Image

Image

20 minutes run time with no offs
347 laps with a best lap time of 3.36
Easy car to drive
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image

Image

20 minutes run time with 4 offs 1 flip
331 laps with a best lap time of 3.34
This car is the most fun car to drive. Needs little better tires on the rear, harder to drive but thats why I love it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Image

Image

20 minutes run time with no offs 1 flip
346 laps with a best lap time of 3.32
A sharp car, handled good. I pushed it a little hard the time it fliped. I think a little more weight down I like the chassis work and boby mount
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image

Image

20 minutes run time with no offs
364 laps with a best lap time of 3.26
This is one wide low sittting car. Wide open all the way around. This is the setup to copy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image

Image

20 minutes run time with 2 offs
305 laps with a best lap time of 3.61
The front wheels not running on the track, rideing on the guide really slowed this truck down. With a better guide this truck would handle really great, Looks great.

Cool to see chassis shots to go with the body shots and reports!
Love it!

LOL! WOW!
Guess my "hey - these have been sitting in the spare parts bin for a long time - I'll use them!" tires may be giving their final flying finger or fate!
Crazy that you had to stop every 20-30 laps to clean them!
(but definitely appreciate the fact that you did!)

Austin,

Thanks for hosting this leg of the Mini Proxy! Good report.

I continue to be amazed that my car has done as well as it has.

Thanks to all who participated.

Dave -
I know I would definitely be in for another go around! (I want to see what new skins will do for the performance!) - also one of the guys that runs at my local track said that he would like to get in as well if we do it again. :)

Look forward to seeing the "Final Results" as well! :)

I will definitely want to put a car in this one next round. Make sure you post early so we have time to prepare our cars. I never knew about this type of racing until I saw your first posts. It would be a blast to watch 1:1.

Cheers,

Keith

I'd suggest that in a future round you consider tightening up on the specifications, going for a definite Autograss class, and if possible running each leg like a real Autograss race in heats of (say) 5 laps. The original autograss concept was to keep motor sport affordable by normal human beings, so huge expensive engine and suspension mods were ruled out.

Just some thoughts.
