Bad news for Rob's AWD hillclimber. Seems a pinion or something in the driveline let go on the Second timed lap. Car was looking good during warm up's, but lost its guts when it counted. I will post the time, but the car is better than that, but the Dragon didn't think much of it! Good try Rob, your scratch built was the big winner between the two.

Wow. I may have run it too hard getting ready to send it. I never heard of an AutoArt pinion going bad, much less both of them. I bet it was something else, maybe the shaft links? Motor mounts? I'll report back post-autopsy (can you tell I'm watching NCIS DVDs right now?).
Hey! I set another record! First DNF!!! Also, I notice the dragon is dropping off some commentary on my car...

Rob, The pinion problem is just a guess based on the noise it made when it quit pulling. the grade on this hill has claimed a few plastic pinions, so I assumed that was the case. I did not want to tear into your car, and it may be a simple fix.

I think I know what happened. I worked hard on getting the mesh perfect, and I'll bet anything I didn't glue the power shaft bearings down. Rats!
