To keep cost down and to allow newbies:
Body ; scalextric
Interior ; free
Motor ; original
Pinion & gears ; original
Chassis ; free
Tyres ; free
Guide; free
It´s just an idea, anyone into it?

Ah, this beginning to make sense now. Not the Beetle, not the Westfalia, but any other type 2, right?

T 1 it"s the " split window" van , t 2 it' s the " bay window", both aircooled.
For me it' s right to use any of these.
I said to use the scalextric one , because it's a good start to work.
You can use as much or less of it as you like.
It must to be fun, so if you like the idea, we can discuss rules, as to keep lights or not, etc.
It must to be a friendly proxy, fun, afordable and easy to beginers .
What do you think?

I thought you were saying Type 1 or Type 2. All of my Kombis have been Bay windows. My family had a '63 Split window.
