It will also work on bushings that aren't quite aligned. Another handy size is a 2mm one for use on pinion gears, as I solder mine on, less risk of bending a motor shaft. :)

A reamer is a good tool to have in the toolchest.

I went to an engineering supplies shop and paid a fortune for one.

They work well as you say on NSR rims but also on the cheapest alloy rims here in NZ......MRRC

Footscoot, I hadn't thought of a 2mm one...might investigate that further, thanks

Are they solid carbide, cobalt or HSS?

I only know one needs to be careful of rust. :( But it's a useful little critter.

The reamers we offer are high-quality HSS - with reasonable care, they will last many years reaming "soft" aluminum wheels and brass/aluminum gears.
