Night heats are over. 8 hours to go. SCC is still ahead and was able to get more laps in than Detroit Dum-Dums during the night. Most drivers got 2 or 3 hours of sleep.

6am-all cars are still running, the night shift is over and guys are still waking up. Coffee goes fast, almost as fast as the cars. SCC is still going strong. It's a tight battle for 2nd between Cloverleaf and Dum-Dum, and both are currently running right at the record pace. It's going to be an exciting finish between these two. Team CanAm and Cincinnati are still hanging in there giving their best effort.

Due to using the wrong numbers for the lane lengths, it turns out Team SCC is the only one that has a chance at the record. With 3 heats to go, the pace at this point is 269.75, which is barely above 269.2. We have the 2 longest lanes, and the 2nd shortest lanes to finish on, so it will be close...

Team Cloverleaf and Team Dum Dum are still fighting it out for 2nd, currently only only 16 laps apart.

And some guys just can't seem to wake up....

2 heats to go. Projection is 269.61 miles for Team SCC and the record is 269.16 miles. Battle for second is also very tight. You can feel the tension in the air. Very fun!

Team SCC won and beat the world record by 0.3 mile. It was close but we got it. Detroit Dum-Dums came in 2nd and Clover Leaf Racing were 3rd not far behind.

Fun event! We'll be there next year to defend our triple crown.
