Day of practice is over. The best cars with the best drivers got under 7 seconds. Dickie had the fastest lap of the day with a 6.880.

Race starts tomorrow at 10am and will have 30 heats of 48 minutes each. 5 heats will be run in the dark, from 11:45pm to 4:15am.

The race is now in it's 4th heat (out of 30). So far 3 teams are on a record pace. We are seeing some great driving on the track..

After 7 heats, 3 teams are still running at a record pace or better, Team SCC, Team Cloverleaf and Team Dum Dum. But Team Dum Dum has lost their lights, and will have to stop and fix them before the night segment starts. The record pace is 269.2

401 with a 6.7 fast lap !?! Holy Smokieos! :shock:

The fast laps are not all valid, because of badly timed track calls. The fastest real lap was Smokeio at 6.875. Pretty fast too!

After 8 hours, Team Slot Car Corner is still ahead with a projection of 280 miles (the record is 269). We haven't changed tires yet but Team Dum Dums did. Team Clover Leaf is not far behind. 272 miles projection for Team DD and 268 for Team CLR.

Night heats are coming up soon. Last two heats were more difficult for Slot Car Corner (tires going and tires changed). Detroit and CLR gained a bit but SCC is still ahead and going above the record pace.

Fewer drivers around the track as some are already catching some sleep. Event is running smoothly, thanks to everyone's discipline. Fun it is!
