One of my Carrera DTM cars went south last night. During a practice session after a deslot, when placed back on the track the lights started flashing very rapidly, about twice as fast as they do when programming or out of fuel. The car will not respond to any coding or other inputs, and it will not drive at all.

Any ideas? This is a new problem for me. Thanks.

Try flipping the direction switch back and forth, along with placing the car back on the track the other way round a time or two. If you haven't already, you also might try turning the track on/off with the car on the track.

Thanks, Bruce. I have tried flipping the switch and running reverse direction and that did not help. I have not tried cycling track power off and on with the car on the track. I will try that. What about resetting the CU?

Replaced the chip. Works fine now.

I'm surprised by that one. I would not have bet the chip was bad. But I don't know if I've ever seen that exact phenomenon, either. I made the power/polarity suggestions just because I've used that to shock flaky cars/chips back to their senses in the past.
