Which aftermarket controllers are best for carrera digital? Do they plug directly to the Carrera control unit or are adapters required? Are there cordless versions available?

It all depends how serious you are about racing and how much money you would like to spend. Digital racing Solutions has a very popular wired controller.

If going Wireless your choices are either the stock Carrera thumb controller, Frankenslot pistol grip which works with the factory Carrera wireless receiver, or Slot.it SCP series, which requires 1 Slot.it CRI receiver per controller as well as an oXygen cartridge in the controller and in the CRI receiver.

Prices range from $100 per controller for Frankenslot to $400 up per controller for Slot.it.

Most of us in Cincinnati use the Truspeed controllers. Smooth control with a comfortable pistol grip. I think Bruce at CincySlots sells them for around $75 each.

Yep, we use these. They are very smooth, throttle sensitivity and brake button if you want one. They have 2 kinds.

The PC interface from DRS is a must have when using the Yingling software. It adds so much more to the racing experience!
