Perfect Randy. Just in time. It's 4.10 in the morning over this side and we are just finishing up the chassis amendments so we can draw that digital board up into CAD now and see if she'll go.
Thanks a mil.

Now that you're having a pint, Carrera chips sometimes require we cut the bottom of interior tray to accommodate . Also, that chip is the F1 chip without lights. The most popular chip is "the other one" with the circuit for front and rear lights.

buspor63, We checked out all four available Carrera chipset boards and the F1 style was all that was required - noting that it does not have facility for lights or flashing beacons. After we did that and made sure it fitted, we then necked 5 pints and a half bottle of bourbon each. Happy days.
Jules
PS. Clearly, having ruled out the full sized chipset Carrera board, we will not be able to issue a proper 'Carrera Digital Friendly' Legends fantasy cop car with flashing lights. I hope we do not regret this in the future.

The F1 style chip is not nearly as common. I have about 40 cars with the other chips that I can pull from, but not a single F1 car. You can decide to use whatever chip you want, it is just the others are easier to scrounge up.
If someone wanted to it is possible to chip almost anything with enough determination, and that includes adding lights. If I am going to be chipping one of your cars I will use the larger chip and simply cut out anything in the way. Legends cars do not really interest me but I am awaiting the Javelin. If you make a street version mine will end up with lights. :D

I did consider that the F1 style was perhaps not as common but it is priced the same as the larger saloon version at around $25.00 + Tax.
To be honest, I am really not sure how the average Carrera Digital user will want to view the option of chipping a Legends Racer. Buy new F1 style boards? Maybe but that will be a major investment.
Try salvage one from another model at hand?
The least I can do, at this stage, is to make the required changes to the chassis floor to allow the fitting of a F1 Carrera board. We are too far down the line to consider the major CAD surgery that would be necessary to take the larger board.
As soon as this Legends racer hatches we switch attention to the Javelin so you might well be the first guy to have a Javelin with Carrera Digital board 'with lights'.
Thanks for the feedback.

Jules i'm sure you probably know that the 26732 chip is the most common chip that Carrera use for digital cars. I'm guessing you're using that chip because it's the smallest?

Dave, we looked at the 26740 board because we thought it was the smallest. Are you saying that the 26732 has a smaller footprint?

No i'm not, you're correct the 26740 is smaller. The 26732 is the one we use in nearly all the cars, it's MUCH more common.

Lights? Legends cars don't need no stinkin' lights. :naughty:
