Big year for Digital

Postby Cincyslots » Tue Dec 23, 2014 12:37 pm

80% of the sets we sold in December were digital. There's going to be a lot of happy dads.....oh and kids too I guess. :D Digital has surely picked up over the last year or so for us. I wonder how long until it goes from, "you're one of the digital guys?" "sounds fun" to "oh wait you do the one lane one car thing?"

probably won't be long Bruce - aside from anything - digital is a great wait to connect someone to your 'ecosystem' so the manufacturers must love it.

Lets hope the increase in interest leads to improvements across the board those already announced and released are certainly on the right track

Agreed! I've been running D1XX for three-four years, my brother started with PRO-X. I wish I had started earlier.

I had a huge Revell 1/24 track in the shed for over 20 years that was my Dad's. Have not set it up since the early 80's I think. When my son was I his teens I purchased him 2 Scalextrics tracks and extra cars. We raced a little but it is now in the crawl space above the house and has been for years.

About 5 years ago I discovered digital racing. I have a permanent 75' Carrera track in the basement and race as often as I can find time. It is a ton of fun and has enough variety that it has not yet started to lose interest to me.

I may be in the minority in my opinion, but digital racing is keeping me hooked and emptying my wallet on a regular basis. Several people have been introduced to the hobby by racing with us. It is not the same as the commercial track/Parma racing. It does have a model car racing vibe, with just enough competition to keep everyone excited.
