Unusual one of a kind 16' x 4' layout for sale.

I'm selling my Route 66 Raid layout to make room for a new project. From my ebay listing;

Custom built 1/32 Scale Route 66 Themed Slot Car layout. This amazing, one of a kind bit of art can be yours for your man cave, garage or family room. Local pickup only, or, if you send a truck, I'll help them load it.

I am a professional model builder but pretty much built this for the joy of doing it. The level of detail has to be seen to believed. It's detailed right down to a roll of toilet paper hanging in the bathroom at the Texaco station (seriously). I've got about 3 years into this labor of love & IMO, there is no other layout like it in the world. Most of the structures are scratch built, one of a kind custom pieces. Most of the buildings are lighted, and some even feature blinking neon signs. There's biker bar (with bikers), a classic Texaco station (complete with a detailed interior right down to a candy machine in the lobby), an Ace Hardware, The Rocket Motel (pink shag carpet in the rooms!), The Comet Movie Theater ("Jaws" & "Le Mans" are playing), a couple of run down hotels, an IGA, a tourist trap gift shop (complete w/dinosaurer), and a pit area for the racers.

About the theme of the layout. I like off road racing & I also have a love affair with the classic Route 66 highway the intersects the United States. I thought, "Hey, what would it look like if the Paris to Dakar Rally (now run in South America) had a stage that ran through the American SW? What you see is my final realization of that.

The track is custom modified Scalextric Sport track. The track plan has bumps, dips & jumps on it, and one monster hill. There is a "falling rock" section and a "washed out/under repair" stretch of highway. The cars run on it are 1/32 Scale raid/rally type vehicles. If you buy the layout I'll give you 4 good running cars to get you started. The cars have suspension & shocks and "drop guides" to help you over the rough sections of the "desert".

The layout is 100% complete and is ready to race on. It is 16' x 4'. It is built on 2 seperate, 4' x 8' tables that bolt together. The tables have wheels so you can move it around the room & push it up against a wall if needed. There is a thin seam that goes right through the mountain and the middle of the track. Track power is supplied by 2 Scale Sport power packs (included) & I'll include two controllers as well. Note. The wires you see hanging down under the layout have been hidden & secured since these pictures were taken.

Pickup. Local pick up only, as this is not the kind of item that can be boxed up and shipped UPS. :) Located in Conner, MT. Like I said though, if you send a truck & a guy to pick it up, I'll help them load it. I'll help them load it but not going to crate it up or anything. I'll simply break it down into 2 parts and help them get it on the track & help them secure it. Something like a UHaul would probably work great. If you're really interested I'll help you figure out what size you'll need.

Why am I selling this? Because I need room to finish my next project, a Steve McQueen "Le Mans" Tribute track.

Here's my ebay listing. You can find the build thread for this you're in "Readers Roads" here. Let me know if you have any qyestions.
