Minor Problem with the Razor

The only real problem with the Razor is that the two forks that hold the axle are too wide for some axles. For example the R-M McLaren M6b has a narrow rear track and I don't want to remove the press on wheel from the rear axle.

Dan what is the inside measurement between the arms on your Razor? the first few I made was 1 inch I brought that in to .900 on my later axle blocks
You might have one of the first few Razors made
I have done Carrera F-1 with the .9 spacing

Mine is an inch on the Razor but even .9 is too wide. Center of bearing to center of bearing is 5/8 to 11/16.

As my machine was built to do 1\24 and 1\32 I dont want to narrow the axle block anymore than it is, I foresee after market wheels in your future :music-rockout:

I already have decided on that and have done it on one machine. After thinking about it, it would potentially degrade the performance for "normal" machines if it were made to handle this one.

Dan - the Area 3 I have has the same issue.
What I've done is setup 3 axle setups with wheels that I can true tires on without needing the actual car's set I'm working on. I've got one for wide-tire cars like Fly, the Revell M6, etc. and a narrow one for Ninco Classic sized tires.
I true the wheels with an emery board while the entire chassis is on the setup block and then put the tires on my "dummy" axle.
Not perfect, but has worked well for me.
