Ha ha ha, that's fantastic. I still have my first set up block from 1977 and its my go-to block every time. It was an offcut from my woodworking class in high school. Pure quality blackwood veneer on chipboard.

I like that chassis block, you've used it efficiently. More so than most of us would have. I've made blocks & jigs from scraps of solid oak & other woods. When the surfaces get too dinged up or burnt, I pull off any metal parts & run it across the jointer. Instantly, I have a new block. :)
