yes its a 6-1 power tool, but is it any good? it looks neat

You should be able to find one for $150, so it wouldn't be a big gamble. I saw these things years ago, then they dried up. I always wondered what happened to them. They were all over the internet for a while. I would have bought one, but they were $600 back then, and the money was worth a lot more then.

I'd pass if I were you.Sooner or later, a Unimat SL, or Unimat3 will come up at a good price.

I agree, David. Besides, we've all had experiences with devices made to do multiple things, and usually the more things they do, the worse they do them.

Worst that can happen, though, is you buy it and don't like it. Keep the packaging and sell it on eBay, and you might be out a hundred bucks.

Yes.

I bought one about a decade ago. Very cheesey. A toy. Not at all close to accurate. single speed motor, the chuck screws on to the motor shaft like a big nut. OK if you are turning wood but that's it. If you are looking for a small lathe buy one of the established makes.

You can buy a much better lathe for "a few dollars more."

I had one of the original Unimat 1 versions, and IMO even that was pretty cheesy.
