Pulled the trigger today. Going to extend the AFX HO Infinity track by 30" into an oval for starters. Plan to expand from there and create a scale layout with greenery, buildings and such.

Been flying 700 sized rc helis for 20 years with a few rc planes and an rc car or 2 mixed in. This perfect for an rc guy during bad weather days. I'm not much for video games. I like something a bit more tangible that has no reset button...

Going to start on a 3x6 table then go from there. I'd prefer high speed on this project and figured oval would do it if the straights are long enough. Then perhaps integrate a road course portion with quick change from oval to road course. It's interesting.

Tips and advice is welcome.

Thank you. I will get the clips. May screw down at some point. Just ordered a 5 amp 12-24v power supply for $13.00 from ebay for upgrade. Glad to hear it about the oval.

Hopefully all will be here thursday or friday. I've been reading and watching videos. I should have done this years ago.

Look like I'll actually start with a 13 foot x 3 foot oval, then go from there. Will eventually mount to 2 hollow door cores with felt and ground covering that separates and have handles for easy moving. Lots of ideas on scaling out the track and infield. 13 feet should wind'em up pretty good. Track will be 24 volts. Higher than the stock power supply. Cars are AFX Meg G Plus, newest AFX controllers. Fairly cheap to get going. Lots to learn. More technical than I thought which is a good thing. Always room for a little more power....
