Bad at soldering....

My 1st routed track works, but.... I am new at soldering the wires to the tape and I don't like the looks or the slight bump .
So...I am thinking of drilling a hole and feeding copper tape to the underside , placing a washer against bottom of MDF, then placing a wire clip and a bolt to hold in place.
Thoughs ?
Suggestions ?
And, begin !

Like Harry said the saddle tie is my favorite for copper tape.

I've used this method too. It works just fine with or without the tape over the top.

There are many different ways to connect the power. Whatever one works for you is what you should use. I like Doc's photos as they look like they work very well. Soldering 14 gauge wire to thin copper tape is NOT an easy thing to do.
As they say, there are more than one way to skin a cat. Unfortunately for the cats, we keep coming up with so many different ways.

The hill climb here is done with screws through the track. HL just put short strips of copper tape on the track where the screws went first before applying tape over the whole lot. On the underside the power wires are soldered straight to the brass screws. Much more simple than the bizarre plan that His Lordship was going to use.
