Apartment track

Built a simple little single lane 2' x 8' test track in my little home-away-from home apartment.

Framed it with 1 x 2's that incorporates the driver controller leads and reverse direction switch.

Has the variable voltage switch made from a rotary switch and diodes shown by P. Marchand.

Runs well in either direction and is a good test track for tuning before getting on the bigger ones.

Will look into the Slot Trainer app for Android smartphones for the time management.
Thanks to Luf for routing and lending the copper tape and paint.

What a great little track! There's a lot going on in a small space. I like the variable voltage mod too. All you need is a digital read out and you'd be set. JIm

Ditto. Nice work. That is more than enough for most to tune and enjoy our models.

That is a NICE looking set up! And looks to incorporate a lot of variety!
Keep showing off cool stuff like this, and you guys are going to have me building a track yet!

Nice work. SlotCarTrainer is a good little app. It'll finish that setup off nicely.

That's a nice track, I'm wondering how larger would be a 3 lanes track with similar layout...

For a three laner assuming 3" lane spacing, I'd say 9" on both straightaways and a foot at each end for a 3.5' x 10' area.

I love your track!
As you know, I have a bit of a "thing" for tiny tracks you can carry around, yet still provide an interesting drive; and yours perfectly fills the bill.

Back in the little winter apartment and wanted to re-claim some work desk space. The track was stored the past few months behind the bedroom IKEA drawers and they turned out to be good track supports.

The top drawer works out well to hold the power source and controller too.

Got to be careful though gunning down the straightaway towards the balcony.
