all depends on the tires your using and the paint on the track, being an Ogilvie the track likely came from a commercial setting which would have a gloss finish for foam tires and glue. The best way to clean a dirty track with glue is give it a good rubdown with naptha fuel, this removes everything and the track has to be reglued. The naptha will clean the braid at the same time if it's in decent condition. Hope this helps and welcome to the board.

I use this guy:

He tows around a small board with a swiffer attached.
But if the track is too gunky, then use naptha.

Just a side note on using Naptha. This is the same stuff used at most all comercail raceways to clean track with. It's highly flamable, and you will need LOTS of ventaltion.

I'd go over it with a vacuum cleaner when it's not been used for a while and a wipe over with a microfiber cloth on a regular basis.

You can use naptha to clean an Ogilvie track surface, but what you need to be careful of is loosening th glue that holds the braid in place.
Put some naptha on a cloth then wipe the surface, don't spray the naptha directly onto the track.
